Stadium Event FAQ

If I pick up my child’s race packet on Friday or Saturday, do I need to stop at Registration on Race Day?

No. You have everything you need.

Where do I take my child to start the race?

Head inside the stadium to the Staging Area located in Sections L & K on the West side of the concourse. Children will be called by age group into the Staging Area approximately 10 mins before their start time. From this section, children will be directed onto the field for their race.

Where do I meet my child after the race?

If you are not running with your child, please go immediately to the designated Parent/Child Reunite area following the start of their race. We have a special team of staff and volunteers that keep the children in the reunite area until they have been recognized by their parent. Because the race heats finish quickly; we strongly recommend that you go directly to this area and wait for your child.

What do I do if I can’t find my child?

Check with Lost Child, located on the main concourse near Section E, and First Aid, located on the main concourse near Section F. Also, this can’t be overstated, please fill out the Race Day Contact information on your child’s race bib, which is pinned to the front of your child’s shirt. If your child does get separated from you on Race Day, your contact information ensures a speedier reunion.

What if it’s cold and/or rains on race day?

Rain or shine, the race will take place. Race start will be delayed in the event of lightning. In the case of severe weather, we will contact those registered via email and post updates on our social media accounts.

What is a “Run Buddy?”

Run Buddies are adult runners, provided by Playmakers, who run in each heat to assist young runners throughout the race. Look for these helpful grown-ups in red Playmakers shirts.

I have more than one child, and they are scheduled to run in separate races. Can they run together?

We prefer children run in their assigned race with others their own age, for safety purposes. However, siblings can run together, with the younger child joining the older child’s race, upon request.

As a parent, do I have to pay to run with my child?

A parent/guardian is welcome to run with a registered child at no cost, but only paid participants receive a t-shirt and medal.

My child has a conflict and can no longer participate, can I get a refund?

The race registration fee is non-refundable, as noted on the registration form.  However, we are willing to move your child's registration to the virtual event. Please email joe@playmakersfoundation.org to request a transfer. Regardless, we would encourage you to attend packet pick-up to get your child's race bag (with goodies!) and t-shirt.

Will I be able to purchase food or beverages at the stadium?

No; unfortunately, concessions will be closed.  Because of the closure, outside food and beverage WILL be permitted, so please feel free to pack your own snacks.

What else is available at the Stadium while we wait for our race to start?

We plan to have several family-friendly vendors joining us on race day throughout Jackson Field! Be sure to share your race day photos on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #MiMile.
